Frequently Asked Questions
Product Information
Back to topWe supply our extensive range of solid and engineered timbers and non-timber options to suit all price points. Our ranges include engineered european oak in plank and herringbone, jarrah, blackbutt, spotted gum and european ash as well as solid oak available in plank and herringbone, plus bamboo flooring, vinyl and laminate ranges.
Timber, laminate, and vinyl flooring differ in material and durability. Solid and Engineered timber features are made with real wood while laminate and vinyl feature a wood-like appearance and are made with hard-wearing and water resistant materials. Pricing-wise, solid timber flooring sits at the higher end while vinyl and laminate sit at the lower end. We have engineered timber available at multiple price points. Aesthetically, timber offers a warm authentic look and feel, while laminate and vinyl mimic the look of timber but can provide a cost-effective and easy maintenance option.
Consider both design and practical needs. Start by assessing the aesthetic you want to achieve; scandi, rustic, contemporary, coastal etc and choose a colour, grade and finish that complements your style. Additionally, evaluate installation methods and maintenance requirements, as some finishes may need more upkeep than others. Finally, establish a budget to narrow options and request samples to see how different options look in your space before making a final decision.
Solid oak is a single piece of wood, while engineered oak has a top layer of real timber over layers of other woods such as birch and plywood. Engineered flooring is a more cost-effective option whilst providing the natural beauty of solid timber. Our solid oak boards come unfinished allowing for customisation in the installation. All our engineered boards are pre-finished meaning they are ready to go once they are installed.
Sweep or vacuum as often as necessary to remove any loose dirt or grit.
- Use protective mats at all exterior entrances. Do not use rubber-based mats as the rubber may
leach onto the timber. - Use felt protectors under all furniture.
- Never slide or roll furniture or appliances across your floor. Protect the surface if using a trolley
to move heavy objects. - Spiked heels or shoes in need of repair can severely damage your floor. In areas of excessive
traffic and wear, make use of runners or area rugs. - Damp mop only – avoid excessive amounts of water. Steam mops must not be used. If a spill
occurs, soak up the bulk liquid promptly

We provide a selection of timber flooring products across three distinct grades; Character is a high feature grade with knots and gum veins, Classic is our medium feature standard grade with some knots, and Select is high grade clean board with little to no knots. Most products come in either Classic or Select and some have options for both.
The majority of our engineered timber come in either a matte brushed (textural) finish or satin (smooth) finish. The beauty of engineered timber is that these ranges arrived pre-finished so there is no additional sanding or staining needed once they are installed.
